Technology has come a long way since we've been married. I can remember our first time being in Germany (early 80's) and having to count our money to make sure we had enough to make a call back to the states. It wasn't cheap back then.
Our second go round, phone cards had come, the Internet was available and a call was under $0.40 a minute, much more affordable. I think it actually went under $0.20 a minute by the time we left Germany in 2000.
This is our first Christmas without a child present since 1983, that is a long time. Tonight we did a video chat with The Airman in Utah. He even took us on a tour of his new apartment. It was nice to see and speak to him. He got to see us and even Bailey and Baxter got into the act. Chester is way to big to pick up and put in front of the camera, not to mention he was sleeping so good on his bed. Later we called on my iPhone to The Mechanic, currently in Ohio. We turned the speaker phone on and had a very nice phone call with him.
Tomorrow we'll reconnect with Utah so The Airman can chat and see his grandparents. I'm sure we'll also give The Mechanic and Pepper a call.
Hope you all have a Merry Christmas! Keep A Smile On Your Face.
